Initial Consultation
During your first appointment, you’ll meet your TC Academic Director. This meeting is part of what sets TC apart from other tutoring companies: we want to understand the whole child. We’ll take some time getting to know your child as a person and as a student. We want to know about their interests and personality, how they feel about school, their areas of strength and weakness, and their learning style. We’ll review pertinent information and talk to anyone else involved in your child’s academic life. Finally, we’ll ask your child what they want to get out of their tutoring, because we always want to foster a sense of academic ownership.
Learning Plan
Next, your Academic Director will design a TC Learning Plan, a comprehensive strategy to help students formulate their goals and understand how they’ll work toward achieving those goals. We will craft specific steps that will be effective for your child. These approaches are always practical and student driven.
TC Coaches
We know that the right teacher makes all the difference. Once we’ve gotten to know a student, we carefully match them with a coach from our team. Our faculty is selected from elite universities so we have the opportunity to work with some of the best minds and role models in New York.
Progress Communication
We also know that educating kids takes a village. We collaborate with professionals from a wide range of disciplines to ensure that every child receives the support they need and that parents have peace of mind. We track our students’ progress and share monthly updates so everyone stays on the same page.
